Encaustic Works on Wooden Panels with Di Longley DAY 2
Enhance and transform your drawings, prints and photographs and create beautiful images on wooden panels, protected with encaustic medium. Consider using drawings and images you already have, and we can print overlay images which can be translucent, or you can layer in the encaustic medium found materials, drawings on Japanese paper, fragments of prints or photographs on Japanese paper, laser print rubbings, as well as adding gold line-work as a finishing element.
In the encaustic workshop, a background images will be adhered to a wooden panel and then coated with encaustic medium which gives your images greater intensity (and protection), through a translucent layer of wax. The panel will be sized, then the archival inkjet photograph adhered with Ph neutral glue, and dipped into a tray of heated encaustic medium. A hot air gun will be used to fuse the encaustic medium. Layering of additional elements over the two days. Two or three panels will be produced.
