Print Club is normally on the third Saturday of the month, but in September it is on Sunday 18th, replacing the cancelled Waterless Lithography workshop. The theme is monoprints, or more correctly, monotypes, which are one-off prints created by drawing onto a metal or plastic plate, rather than creating a matrix that can be printed more than once. All members, full and associate, are welcome, and all are invited to bring any examples of your own or by other artists that demonstrate the medium’s potential. If you’ve never done a monotype, now’s the time to try the simplest form of printmaking of them all.
From 10-11am there will be a ‘show and tell’, after which people will be able to experiment using the presses. Bring your own inks and paper – this is an opportunity to try out water-based inks or oil paints mixed in a transparent medium. For more examples of this medium, visit my Pinterest page. Please contact me if you’re coming, either via the Facebook page or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org Please bring some food to share.
